It has both adult and pediatric bronchoscope with C-Arm facilities for transbronchial lung biopsy. TBNA and other interventions like FB removal, Endobronchial stenting. Our consultants are routinely doing fiber optic and rigid bronchoscopy. Basic monitoring and resuscitation facilities are available in bronchoscopy suit itself. Bronchoscopy procedure are routinely done in various intensive care units as and when need arises.
Medical and surgical Thoracoscopy preformed routinely in minor OT. In modern practice of medicine this procedure has changed the concept of management of pleural diseases. Like pleurodesis in recurrent pleural effusion, early diagnosis of mesothelioma and other pleural disorders.
Polysomnography: Our Sleep Disorder Laboratory is the most sophisticated Sleep lab in state, being equipped with additional sensors; hardware and software to carry out complete studies to diagnose sleeps related breathing disorders. Sleep studies have become a science in itself in the modern day medical world. Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a disease commonly found among the general population who use to snore. Sleep studies can diagnose OSA in early stage and prevent any serious complications and even prevent unexplained death during sleep.
Pulmonary Function Laboratory
A computerized spirometry and diffusion measurement apparatus is available. DLCO System is of international standards. The DLCO test can detect early stages of interstitial lung disease in presence of normal spirometry and chest X-rays and can prevent its progression to irreversible stage.
Respiratory critical care Medicine Unit
For management of critically ill patients with respiratory failure, a fully equipped respiratory ICU (RCCU & HDU) is available with the most advanced ventilators and Bi-pap Machines with trained and dedicated nursing staff. The Department is headed by specialists in Pulmonary and Critical care medicine who are ably supported by senior residents, trained respiratory nurses and physiotherapists as well as technicians.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation Centre
Specially trained respiratory physiotherapists are available for rehabilitation of patients with chronic and obstructive pulmonary disease and other chronic lung conditions. Regular rehabilitation programmers are running for these groups of patients by team of experts
